Default lithium ion batteries

I have a 2007 Gulfstream Crescendo 8356 crw with the stock converter and charger.

My question is I was given 2 lithium ion batteries. Can I install them just as is and they still get charged?

We have gotten an inverter/converter/charge but will not be able to get it installed for awhile and wanted to get use of the new batteries as my house ones are darn near dead.

Any help would be fantastic !!!

Thanks again,
Buck

I recommend contacting the battery manufacturer. You want to be safe.

Default Danger danger danger

I used to fly larger electric powered Quad Copters with what we considered "large" LiPo battery packs. These were usually 4 or 5 cell packs and they weighed about 5 lbs. 10000 mAhr or so.

LiPo batteries require special chargers to replenish the cells. The cells are oly 3.7 v per cell and they are charged individually with special computer based chargers.

If a LiPo is connected to a regular charging system and starts seeing 12 Vdc it WILL EXPLODE. I have witnessed this a few times. LiPo cells are a great risk of fire and explosion in a crash also. I have seen this happen more. These are very powerful and large explosions even with a small 3 cell pack. If you short out a LiPo it will overheat and may explode.

They are just dangerous and MUST be handled properly. Make sure you know what you're doing with these things.
