Default AeroShield wind deflector pros/cons

Hey travel trailer towers:
Anyone have anything to say about the AeroShield rooftop wind deflector? Some claims are up to 3mpg increase. I have read a couple reviews that 1.5mpg has been experienced. I am pulling a GulfStream Vintage Cruiser 19ERD with a F-150 SuperCrew, getting 10.3mpg. Does it affect your pull? Is there a substantial noise increase? Please let me know if it has worked for you.
Thanks in advance.

If your cab is VERY close to the front of the trailer, you might see some improvement (think: semis). Given that yours likely has a several foot gap, you're not going to see much improvement at all. Also, at the rear of the trailer you still have a flat wall. At speed, that creates a vacuum, which nature abhors. It can fill the vacuum by pulling the trailer back, and air forward, and tries both. That's also why semis have those odd angled panels mounted on the back of the trailer.

The best way to get better mileage: Slow down.
