Default Raising the ride level

I am looking at raising the ride level on my Canyon Trail 30 FBRG it looks like it has adjustable shackles but it also has shocks attached. How easy is this to do my self? And what would that process be?
Thanks

241,

I would suggest you proceed with caution on this and try to find out what type of shocks you have. The shocks have a range of travel on them. I believe they would be Monroe #

Anyhow since the shocks are mounted at an angle and hence the range of travel is hence reduced by that angle. If you add one more inch which is about all the bolt hole change would allow then you might exceed that range of travel. Do I know it is an issue for sure NO, but just check into it to be safe.

You probably can get an almost equal ride height change by going to larger tires and that would effect the shocks as much as the bolt hole change. I think you have the room but a call to Gulfstream would likely help. They were wonderful helping me out getting my shocks.

Changing tires to gain one inch in ride height would require the new tires to be 2" in diameter bigger than the present tires.

That would be quite an increase in the tire size. One would have to be very careful when increasing tire size that the distance between the tandem axle tires would allow for the required clearance.

gstream40,

You are correct you need 2" change in Diameter. Can he do it, he will have to measure but getting 1" out of changing those holes isn't going to give him an appreciable ride height change. The tires will get some more and it is likely that he would have to do both.
