Default Oil Change Anyone?

Would anyone recommend changing oil and filter if you just purchased your new SuperNova knowing that the chassis has a manufacture date of March 2008, the coach only has 1123 miles on the odometer (600 that I've put on it), and its unlikely that the dealer nor GS did? 19 quarts is a lot of oil to "throw away" if its still good but knowing the sensitivities of the VT365 to oil condition I'm thinking its cheap insurance.

Definately change the oil!!!! That chasis was built in 07 and the oil is over three years old. Cheap, cheap, cheap insurance.

My mistake, misread your post. The Chassis is still over two years old and the oil in it, same advice

Thanks....I was thinking that way regardless and just curious if others gave consideration to that when they purchased their rigs....

Definitely change it and be regular about it. I like 6000 mile intervals or at least twice a year. Having first owned a 63 Chevy Corvair as a kid since new that never used oil. That is a surprise, but there were a few tricks. Rebuilding antique airplanes, etc. Always changed oil on a new engine at 1000 miles. Never have had a vehicle use oil; whether a boat, lane car, pr truck. Some folks will change the oil and not the filter. Dumb! Lots of junk in a filter. One of the reasons for just changing the oil no matter is pollen.

Buy the way, my VT 365 takes 20 quarts not 17 like the book says. I go and have International do it so they can give it a good once over, like check radiator hoses. Texas TC will tell you they rub. Also one of the oil changes is scheduled when I winterize "Bessie" so she will not sit with dirty oil while sitting stored. Do the same in my boats.

Don't forget the Generator. It has been sitting also. I take the cover off, make it reall easy and you get a look at everything. Planning on changing the cap screws to latches. Won't need 10 mm wrench. Filter is available at any auto supply house. You do not need an Onan.

Changing the oil is cheap insurance.

Sounds like part of the weekend activities. Thanks for confirming. Can anyone tell me the PN for the oil filter or know if the oil filter is unique to the VT365? Since the location and housing appears identical to a Ford I was curious if the same filter is used. I looked through the manuals but didn't see a part number.
