Default Feedback on the VT 365 Engine

At the end July I took my SupeNova to the International dealer to have serviced. When I picked it up they indicated I had an oil leak at the rear of the engine and was probably the same type of leak they had seen on school buses that use the same engine. Turns out International knows about the problem and will fix under warranty. It is a problem where they have to pull the engine to change the gasket. I picked up yesterday and they had repaired the gasket and replaced the turbo. The turbo change was because I had little power on acceleration and the vanes were not operating properly. I had not seen this issue on the forum before and I know several of you do your own oil change, so you may want to inspect your engine. It was not a big oil leak but I wanted to get fixed now.

You might want to do a subject search and look for "Turbo Farts." I introduced the forum to this phenomenon, about a year and a half ago, and it seems all VT 365's are blessed with it. I too, had my turbo replaced right after purchase, to see if that would cure it, and it did not. We now have the famous "live with it." Thanks for the heads up on the oil leak gasket issue, I'll have it looked at next wet check up at my Intn'l dealer.

The turbo replacement was for lack of power on acceleration, not the turbo fart. After about 3k miles, I very seldom hear this noise.
