Default OWNERS PACKET FOR 2005 BT CRUISER 5230

Hi everyone - glad to find this forum! We are new owners of the 2005 BT Cruiser 5230 and love it so far. The only thing is that none of the user manuals for any of the onboard appliances came with the unit. We are specifically interested in an owners manual/operating instructions for the Ford E350 chassis, one point being that we've heard that you can play the dash radio/cd player using the house batteries by flipping a switch or hitting a button but we don't see anything like that on our dash!

Also, our dealership replaced the old big square TV with a brand new flat screen and it looks great but we can't get it to play through the speakers in the ceiling. Is it supposed to? Confused!

Any help would be great! Thanks for being there!

I have a 2004 BT Cruiser 5220 and it does not have a switch to change the dash radio to coach power. I've had these on other RVs, but haven't found one on the dash, and it is not mentioned in the manuals.

Also, I too changed out the old TV with a new flat screen, and there were not audio connectors in the TV cabinet to tie into the ceiling speakers. It could be done, but probably not worth the trouble.

The very best improvement I made to the BT Cruiser was to take it to a truck alignment center and had them add Ingall 59400 adjustable sleeves and set the caster as follows:
LH +5.3 Degrees
RH +5.5 Degrees.

The result is a motorhome that handles much like a car. No wandering, no wiggle/waggle from passing trucks, and easy one handed control whether on the highway or in the mountains.

depends on the speakers. if you have a set of five small surround sound speakers in the roof then the wires for those terminate above the cab probably in the right hand cupboard.
if you have two (white) car audio looking speakers then I believe they are connected to the cab radio. if you don't hear anything when the radio is on check the audio settings there (fade or front/rear balance, etc).

you can download a generic manual from http://www.gulfstreamcoach.com/towablel ... orhome.pdf
that's about as good as it gets.
you can usually download the manuals from the suppliers. look in one of the cupboards above the kitchen and you should see a label with the models & serials of the main systems.

Thanks for all the replies - we wound up putting in a surround sound system and it sounds great!
