GS Friendship ladder
Our 2006 GS Friendship 8408 did not come with a rear ladder. Pictures of similar model likewise do not show a ladder. Has anyone added a ladder and if so, what did you use. I have a extendable ladder but getting it our for use is getting old.
Thanks,
Dennis

Might I suggest that if your question about storage has nothing to do with a ladder for a G7 MH, That you start another topic with your storage question.
That way it does not get the topic of the OP going in a different direction or hi-jack the OP thread.

Re: GS Friendship ladder
Do you think your Friendship came from GS with the ladder or was it added later? Working around the rear radiator access doors create a little challenge. Would it be possible to send a picture of the rear of your coach showing the ladder?
Thanks,
Dennis

Re: GS Friendship ladder
Dennis,
The ladder was factory installed. Mine is a 2003, so I don't know how your access door is configured.
If your access door opens to the side, you may have to get a folding two piece ladder.
I hope this helps.

Re: GS Friendship ladder
Thanks for the photos. I do have the two piece side opening door so will have to be a two piece ladder. However, does appear doable. I sure miss having the easy roof access so will find a way to mount a ladder.

Re: GS Friendship ladder
Dennis,
A couple years ago I saw a G7 with a ladder installed on the rear. It was a short ladder that came down almost to the access doors and then there was a second section
that hooked onto the top section. the bottom section came all the way down to the ground. I believe the owner added it and possibly designed it himself.
The bottom section he removed and stored it in one of the basement storage bays.
It looked very good on the G7 like it was factory installed. Being designed and installed in this way it did not hinder the access door operation.
Here is a picture of the ladder on the back of our MH:
I know it doesn't help you, but notice the connection points where it fastens to the rear cap. Those points were reinforced on the cap for the ladder. That is
something you want to consider with your installation. Make sure the cap is strong enough to handle the extra weight for some husky fellow like me (220 lbs)
hanging on the ladder.

Re: GS Friendship ladder
Dennis,
The 2007 Tour Master I own has a two part ladder which came from the factory -- here is the picture from the back page of the Gulf Stream brochure showing how it clears the french doors on the engine compartment because the lower section can be removed:

Re: GS Friendship ladder
Thanks guys. I'd need something very similar to the set up on Chuck's Tour Master but as Ron says, have to watch for the ability to carry the weight. I think that's even a little more critical with the removable section as all the weight has to be supported off the upper mount points. No weight transferred to the bottom mount as on Ron's Yellowstone.
If I find a method and do follow through I'll post a pic.
Thanks all,
Dennis

Re: GS Friendship ladder
Dennis,
Here's a picture showing the full view of the ladder mounted on the Tourmaster. Notice that on the bottom removable section, there are two mounts that have pins
in them that can be removed so it has some support for the lower section and it can be removed by pulling the pins. Just by looking, I would say that this would
probably work on your G7.
Now finding out from Gulf Stream if you can still get one of these ladders that was/is specific made for GS by their supplier might be a challenge.
