Default Gulfstream Headlights

Hello Frank
You and I have what appears to be identical Gulfstreams. I have the same problem as you do with your head lights. From many years in the Automobile market I know Ihave seen these same headlights and mounts on an automobile. I can not place the make and model. If you get an answer or a solution please let me knowand I will do the same.

i have seen them aswell . i know that gulfstream dont make them, dont know who the supplier might be.been looking at headlights on passing cars for about a year, looks like it might be ford, bus, tractor, boat. --hell i dont know. thinking about ctting holes in the front grill area, fiberglassing light pods and installing aux. lights . want it to look good and will think about it when summer gets closer

your idea of fiberglassing in a differant Headlight has merit. If you find a headlight with similarites I may try it myself.

Look closely at the existing headlight assembly for numbers and run these number through a google search. I found that my 2002 Friendship has 1997 Lincoln Towncar headlights. When I needed a part for one I was able to get it at a dealer or a salvage yard. Hope this helps. FBL

If you could post a picture of the front of your coach, we might be able to identify the headlights.

I know on my Yellowstone, GS used the Ford Taurus from about the 1994 era. Some of the Voyagers from about 1999 to 2003 were the same.

You are correct as they are Ford Taurus headlights. The genuine Ford ones run around $300 each but re-pop units are about $110 each.

There are two types of the Taurus headlights. One has what looks like "optics" on the reflectors that make them much better and put out more light, the other has just a plain reflector.

The plain reflector type were used by GS until 2004 when they started using the "optic" reflector type.

GS changed some of the plain reflector headlight assy to the "optic" reflector type IF the owner complained that the light was not bright enough. I know because on our 2003 it had the plain type Taurus headlight, I complained and they changed it at the Back home Rally in 2004 right before we purchased our 2004 and it had the optic type already installed in it.

If you are replacing the headlight assys, I recommend that you get the "optic" type if at all possible. The light quality is much greater.

How can you tell which lights to order. Are they differant year modles or are they differant body type from ford, I guess I am trying to get you to do all the work and tell me how to get the correct ones. Thanks

I just remembered that GS had to change my right assy. because the seal went bad, they gave me a new left assy and I had in the garage.

I went out and checked the manfacturer and info on the box.

The ones with the prism on the back reflector are made by Depo for the Ford Taurus 94-95 LX/SE Model
Replacement for 331-1120L-AS
OEM #F4DZ 13008 B

Those numbers above are for the new left side assy. that I have in the box.
The right side is probably different, but I don't know since I don't have the box for the right side that they installed.

Hope this helps.

Frank, I looked at the one you purchased on eBay, but I can't tell by the picture if it has the prism reflector or not. It appears that it does but I can't say that it does to be 100% sure. But the description the seller posted states that it is for ALL models and the LX/SE Models had the prism reflectors, the standard models of the Taurus did not.

UPDATE: I just did some searching on eBay and now I can say that Frank did in fact buy the better light output prism headlights.
Here is a link to a eBay item that has a better picture showing the prism headlight although it is not a good price.

if you think that price is high ,you should see what it would cost at a auto parts store. if i could get that light it woud cost me
$300.00 or more per light. i see what you guys pay for stuff in the U.S. i ride my harley down there every year. --dont even get me started about the price of fuel --$3.00 a gallon -be happy to pay--i might as well be liven in northern Russia for what we pay for stuff.

I know its this info is somewhat late to the posting, but maybe someone can use it. I was checking on replacing my headlight units and found this company selling them at a good price. $40.00 each
