Default Water Pump cushioning material

I purchased a 2015 Vista Cruiser and dry camped for a few days. Of course, I had heard that water pumps were notoriously noisy, and needed some modification and it was very true.
So upon return, I purchased a SHURflo water pump silencing kit and proceeded to open the compartment under the bed where the pump was located.
OMG! I could not believe what was used at the factory as a cushioning material. A piece of carpet remnant had been folded in four and placed between the pump and the floor. Not only that, but the carpet was wet, so something has not been properly tightened. Me thinks they need to review their quality assurance and pre delivery checklist.....

Noise Sometimes something small, my 94 truck had a buzz at certain speed like horsefly/ bumblebee in speedometer; finally resolved by torquing every mounting nut found on firewall under the hood. I like the foam on piping idea where needed.

Had a carpet scrap under mine also but had the orig pump replaced under warranty due to internal leaking issue. They put in a SurFlo pump with some nice soft rubber feet as a replacement. Sounds alot quieter but may throw a piece of that interlocking foam exercise mat under it for added dampen instead of another piece of carpet.

(Maybe just me) but I WANT TO KNOW WHEN PUMP RUNNING, CYCLING, NOT SHUTTING OFF.... hate to think it ran my battery dead and I never knew it was running
