Default low point plugs to valves?

Just seeing if anyone changed out the screw on low point drain plugs to a ball valve type. Mine have to be screwed in pretty tight not to drip and figured going to a ball valve set up would make things a bit easier (and dryer) when draining the lines/blowing them out for winter. Gonna hit up Lowes to see what they have that will match up thread wise.

I used these Shark-Bite ball valves (Amazon) on mine. They work nicely.

Yep, put these on https://www.lowes.com/pd/AMERICAN-VALVE ... ve/3353864 also had to use a threaded adaper on(one on each valve) so the screw connectors on the low point lines screw on to the valves. I have yet to fully leak test w/ pressure but I will know by this weekend when we go camping.

I too changed the screw on caps to ball valves, used Flair It fittings. I know the hardest part was removing the PEX clamp but living in small town with locally owned shops the person at hardware store showed me the easiest way. Then he also said to use a hair dryer or heat gun and get PEX warm and you will be surprised how easy they go in. Also while working on plumbing extended drain on fresh water tank to side of trailer, that laying underneath it to open cap was getting old and the water dripping down arm was annoying. By the way did you get to camp and check to see that the valves were not leaking. Glad to report that my change over is not, yay plumbing always leery about

Tested good and super easy to drain the lines/tank before leaving camp, no leaks. I left the screw (female end) on and didnt have to cut or dissamble the pex line any. All I did was just screwed on the new ball valves. I have the factory screw in plugs stored in my trailer tool box just in case.
