No slide or leveling electric power unless I use aux switch
Hi,
Everything was fine until I went out yesterday to show some friends our unit. The slides and leveling system wouldn't work unless I use the aux switch with the battery icon. I never had to do that before.
I also don't know what this switch is for that I have circled in red. It also lights up when I use that battery switch.
My house batteries are at 5.5 to 5.75 each to make 11.5v when everything is off. When I start the generator the house batteries jump to 14.5. When I shut everything off I can't get the slides or leveling system to work unless I hit the battery switch. The engine battery is 13.1.
Can anyone help? This has never happened before and the unit only sat for 3 weeks. Thank you -

Hello the switch that is circled is the heated mirrors, and did you make sure the coach switches were on before using the slides the simple things can get you as it sounds like you used the aux assist switch witch makes me think one was off or could you have a problem with a battery set..but you say they were on so next test the power out on the switch solenoids to make sure the power is in fact powering up all the circuits. And all fuses are good..

On LEAD ACID BATTERY 12.0-12.1= 50% charged, and 11.5 would be close to ZERO%, where 12.6-12.7vdc= 100% charged. Did you leave a light on somewhere when you were touring unit? State of charge VOLTAGE best read 30-minutes after removing charger and loads, as you get a FALSE HIGH surface voltage from charger that disappears.

It’s definitely one of two issues, or both. 1, There is something using battery power when your away (something has been left on) it helps if you shut the main house battery switch to the off position when the RV is not in use.
You have a weak battery. One weak battery will pull the others down quickly. Use a trickle charger on them with th house battery in the off position. Charge for 24 hours, check the voltage. Wait an hour check voltage again. There will be a little drop in voltage, wait another hour, check again. If the voltage has dropped again. It’d most likely time dot new batteries. Before buying batteries, have a load test done.
I have left my refrigerator on 12 volt while parked in storage and it drained all the battery power. Neither the slides or jacks would work.
Just saying.

Oh I also neglected to mention check your seat switch some models need to have the seat in the full forward position. I can by pas mine if necessary. As this will also keep your slides from operating.

Understood! Haha but actually once you are familiar with the system it is a nice added safety feature to when my coach is in driving mode it inhibits use of the slides so no one can accidentally push a button and have the slide move while in motion. It's just another point to have to check when something stop working..
At almost 68' in length and 20 tons moving down the road, a little extra safety never hurts.

Absolutely!
We love the power! Actually chipped it several years ago! Runs like a rabbit now.
