Default Eternabon Tapen

Ok, last post, does anyone use this Eterna bond tape instead of caulking the seems or joints. Seems a lot cleaner to work with.

I had a fiberglass roof. On the long side seams I used Gorilla Weatherproof tape rather than caulk. They were flat so the tape would work. On the end seams I used caulk as they were rough and tape would not sit flat.
At the ends of the tape, you need to round the end. Do not use a straight cut as the wind can pick at it. Round them, then bury the ends in caulk.
Gorilla make a weatherproof/ UV resistant tape so make sure that is what you are getting. It's a lot cheaper than the alternatives.
All this may be useless advice if you have a rubber roof. You may have to check compatability for that.

Thanks, I do have a rubber roof, I've watched a few YouTube videos of people doing this, just wondering if it held up
Thanks

Default Roof Tape

I sold my unit a year after I taped the roof. Up until then I saw no problems with it.
The tape sticks and doesn't breakdown like duct tape will from the UV.

Compare the price. It might be worth a try. You can always contact Gorilla support and ask if it will stick to the rubber roof.

I used a GORILLA CLEAR tape in emergency tape when delam overcab sidewall was coming loose at metal edge trim; did not last 2k miles, I do not recommend. From what I read, no RV tech recommends Eternabond to replace Dicor at devices, and several caution e.g. as removing to replace skylight will likely tear the roof material.
