Shower drains to black tank

2005 8377 Sun Voyager. I've tested the drain connections by putting water down each fixture with empty tanks one at a time. Results were toilet & shower are connected to the black tank, bath sink & kitchen sink are connected to the gray tank. Boy, does showering fill the black tank quickly when boondocking! Any suggestions on a plumbing fix?

Welcome to the forum Doug, :D :D :D
We use the shower every day and can last about 7 days with out filling the fresh water tank or emptying the holding tanks I suggest you learn how to use less water when taking a shower!!!
This is not a slam on you we all had to learn how to conserve water when dry camping, Best way in the shower is to wet down shut off the water soap up then turn water back on to rinse off and only use enough to remove soap. After a little practice you will find you have enough tank space to go the distance enjoy.

I wonder why your shower is hooked to the black water holding tank. I tested my TM, and found the bathroom, toilet and sink, are on the black water; the shower and kitchen are on the grey. I'd guess that someone hooked you up wrong at GS.
Showers are a combination of quick wet, soap, quick rinse with us as well.

I've tried the quick shower method and end up with painful skin problems due to incomplete rinsing. Since no one knows why my shower drains to the black tank, I guess I'll use the outside shower hose!

Depending upon the accessibility of the tanks, I would change your shower drain to the grey tank.
The black water tank fills fast enough with my bathroom sink draining into it, the shower would fill with one use by my wife :lol: !!

I just wanted to confirm what your tests discovered. By design, on the Sun Voyager 8377, the shower is plumbed into the black tank. It makes no sense what-so-ever, but that is what the drawing calls for. It's not a plumbing mistake made on the production line. Also, the black tank is smaller capacity than the grey tank.

I'm assuming the floor plan was laid out first, perhaps by marketing, and some designer had the task of connecting things (on paper). The only way he could figure to do it was what you got. I'd bet it's next to impossible to change.

My 8351 drawing calls for the shower to drain into the grey tank... plus both tanks are the same (larger) size.
