im having a problem of over heating on my 94 senic cruser (5.9 cummins)when im towing a vehical. Run good when not towing. I think that there is just not enough hp (230hp)in my cummins. Is any body using a Banks power up grade and if so does it work.

Hi Don

I have a '95 Scenic Cruiser with the Banks system. The previous owner added the system to pull an enclosed 20+ foot trailer to car shows. The coach still ran on the warm side, so he added 2 electric fans on the radiator to assist with the cooling. Works fine and the added power is great..
You might research the fans before you go to the expense of the banks system. You may not need it..

Thanks for the tip it is good to here that there is a fix for the problem and to know that the banks kit does make a difference on the power side. i had tought about some fans. where did you mount yours?

Don

The fans were mounted on the cooling fins of the radiator.. much like the cars that use electric fans... He ran plastic tie-wraps through the cooling fins and pulled the fans up tight.. It has not damaged the cooling fins...
I guess you could use metal straps too !!

I have used electric fans on several "hot rods" I built.. You can get them with adjustable thermostats to turn them on at any temperature you want.. even stagger the temps if you use two fans ...
