It should be directly above the a/c unit. Look for a grill and remove the screws so that you can access the filter inside. The material used on my unit is the reusable type, just vacuum it and replace or buy a new piece at any Home Depot or hardware store. You should clean these often.

Thanks. I crawled around underneath it this weekend and couldn't find it. Will try the location you advised this evening after work.

Got the unit used and it was obvious that previous owner didn't do a lot of cleaning so I am sure that it needs it!

Just to clarify what I said, the filter will be located inside the RV above the a/c unit. It is the return air vent pulling air from the cabin to the a/c unit. You will not find a filter under the RV.

Arthur, you said the filter is not outside, where exactly is it? Is it under the bed? We have been looking all over for it.
thanks

I hope that I can write this so that it is east to understand. The location of the basement air filter on the T40A models is located in the step that is at the end of the King Size bed at floor level facing the drawers below the TV. There is a grate that has 6 screws that have to be removed. Use a flash light and look inside. Carefully lift out the old filter, I say carefully because you don't want any dirt and lint to fall down into the unit. If some does, don't worry about it.

The filters are not anything special, just ordinary furnace filters. I buy mine at Target, it is a WEB Absorber, one size fits all. It has a black plastic grid, a black charcoal type filter and a green filter material. It is large enough to make 2 filters for our needs. Either use the old filter as a template or measure what you need. Be sure that the filter material is cut a little larger than the plastic grid to insure a tight fit. Instructions for cutting are on the package.

I hope this helps, if not get in touch with me.
