I was told if you remove the round wire w/spring retainer from the front of the gasket and access the door switch that you can disarm the switch by connecting the brown and black wire. My unit had a black and blue wire which I cut and connecting them together. Now I can open the door at any time. Maybe this will solve breaking the door handle, they cost $42 each....
