I would like to plan a get-together this year for members of this site somewhere in the Western US. What does everyone think? Is there any interest? If so, I suggest somewhere in UT, CO, or ID since there are so many beautiful national and state parks and (selfishly) I live in SLC. :) Here are my suggestions:

- Devils Garden in Arches National Park (may be an issue for the large Class As)
- Lake Powell (Bullfrog)
- Capitol Reef NP
- Zion NP
- Bryce Canyon NP
- Cedar Breaks NM
- San Rafael Swell, UT
- Star Valley, WY
- Gros Ventre area, WY (tetons area)
- Grand Tetons NP

And the list could go on and on...

Any interest?

I am VERY much interested, however, won't quite be retired through the end of summer.

My son lives in Spokane, WA, so the beautiful Nothwest is a beat we've traveled (by auto). You are soooo right about the awesome opportunities in the Idaho, Montana, east-Oregon parklands.

If we are traveling west at the date you set this summer, we'll be there. Most realistically though, not this year. I will definately make it a destination in future years.

I would love to participate. Unfortunatly we are unable to travel that far this year. Have fun and good luck with it.

We were just out that way last summer and it is beautiful country. I'd be interested in something closer to the midwest.

Liz, I guess it would be a tough trip for you!

If I can get my wife out of her job for awhile I would say yes! Mine is easier to walk away from for while......although still puts the hurt on. The Tetons would be my vote of those listed. Montana/Wyoming or further east......midwestish like Timothy said!

How does the Blackhills of SD sound?

That sounds more doable to us! 8)

Just not in the cards for me this year. Wife and I have too many irons in the fire. We are having a 50th anniversary and have a cruise planned and then a party that the children have planned. If it was a little closer to home it might be possible, but not out west. I am sure it would be a great Rally and I hate to miss it.

The Black Hills might be doable for us too. Any dates in mind?

Prob. mid-july or late august. I definitely wouldn't want to do it the weekend before or after the Sturgis. I have alot planned this summer too so I will have to lay out the calendar for possible dates.

Just a suggestion here but once you decide on a date I think you may need to start posting on the other forums to get some life drawn back into this one. All of us can help in that too.

Will be watching to see what develops.

Gulf Streams "Back Home" rally is a great time to talk with
repersentives from the factory about issues that the customer might
have. It is one of the best rallies that I have attended. It is very
informative and just possible if enough "customers" have their voices
heard changes might be made. Its worth a try. Of course you have
to be a member of the Gulf Streamers club.

is that the same club that removed its forum because too many members were being heard?

You are correct, it was the Gulf Streamers International RV Club forum that was set up for it's members for discussion items about the club.

It was ordered "locked" down by the management of GS because of some of the discussions. The company was paying for and running the forum and there were items being posted that was felt that were not club related.

Non-club members were using it trying to get service issues settled.

It was then made for club members only, but has since been removed completely. I am going to try to find out why next month at the rally, but it was probably for lack of postings by members.

It would be nice in most of the places you mentioned in the summer time, but it will be cold in those states starting in October til Feb. So if you have a rally for example at Zion in the summer, we would most certainly be there. We live in California so it would have to be in the western states. I don't care to drive in tornado alley.
I had not noticed the posted dates, so I guess I am like two years to late. LOL

Well, this really is a great meet and greet type of thing! Then we're off to wherever it is to finish off our camping trip or to head home. Either way, it's always fun meeting people with the same interests.
