I'm very new to all of this RV stuff, and I really appreciate all the great help you all have given me.

I have a 2009 SuperNova 6400 with 7000 miles and the 8K generator with only 19 hours. Gen would not start. Took it in and they found the inverter was toast. They replaced under warranty, but get this. The machanic said what caused it was that the mud flaps are to short and allowed the tires to throw water right up the bottom air intake and shorted out the inverter.

This seems to be a design issue, but will attempt to get longer flaps before using in wet conditions again.

Has anyone else heard of this type of issue?

P.S. this type of formun is great and much appreciated!!!

Our inverter board was also bad after about the same amount of hours. Could be a bad batch of boards, however, We have the 6KW unit not the 8KW. have you talked to Onan or was it just replaced. Has anyone else had this or a similar problem?

I sent an email to the GS service department. They have responded and requested pictures. I sent a series of pictures, realize a difficult area to photo very well. Then I got a call back from them that they are very interested in looking into this and will be circulating the photos around there service department for future info. Hopefully either GS or ONAN will come up with a way of protecting the vent from taking on water splashed up from the rear wheels. More to come when I hear something back from either ONAN or GS.
