The previous owner of my gulfstream SVB pulled out the radio willy nilly and left a complete mess. Can any one tell me how to access the over head speaker wires for front and rear speakers also the color if known.

The owner of my RV also left me with a mess of wires. Finally able to decipher wish wires where no good etc. I am also changing my speaker wires. Adding a speaker to the panel under the dash and disconnecting the original speakers. So maybe this will help you. You may use a small flat bar something bigger then a screw driver to pry off the speaker covers. Under the dash you should find a rectangular plastic connector with 11 pins this is hook to your speakers. There is no reason why this should have been pulled out or cut. If you find this connector it will save u a lot of time. You can then use a continuity checker to check which wires are for what speakers. On my rv the
Blue - RR Right
Yellow - RR Left
Gray - Frt. Left
Green - Frt Right

Hope this helps u out.

Thanks for the advice. I was finally able to trace the wires by getting the color from behind the speakers and finding them under the dash, ( your colors were the same as mine. no Connector) in any event to say the standard speakers are poor is high praise. I can now put in some better speakers. I am not an audiofile but I do want something I can hear while going down the road.

Glad to hear you have your speakers figured out. I remember a trick to finding out which speaker was which from long ago when all speaker wires were the same color.

Touch each wire from the speaker to one end of a flashlight battery. The speaker making the faint pop sound when connected is where the wire leads.
