brake controller

has anyone wired up a brake controller in a 1999 sunvoyger svb. is the wireing harness in place from the factory or did you have to run a complete new run of wire to the rear. if the unit is wired ,where would it be[location] in relation to under the dash,i found the c.b. radio cable.the owner before me ,had a flat four pin plug wired up and i think he just had the lights working and ,i think, serge brakes, but i need to have a seven pin for electrict brakes. it seems that folks are saying the the harness is in place on the newer models ,but what about the older ones. thanks

Frank I checked my controller and it does not appear to be orginal. I could be wrong because it is such a good job of installation. Look for four wires wrapped in black tape coming thru the firewall on the right side of the steering column. It comes in up high passes over the column going in the back of the controller. The wires are solid red, white,blue, and black.
