I had my fridge running on propane and in just over a week the fridge quit working. Says battery low (gee I did not know battery worked with fridge on propane). Anyhow, I plugged into electricty and fridge is now working fine.
Question is how long should the battery take to drain with fridge on? Do I need a new battery, or is a week an average time for fridge to work on propane?
Thanks

Remember that when running on battery there are other users of electricity besides the fridge. The worst is the propane/carbon monoxide alarm which can discharge a good battery in a couple of weeks or so. Battery life also depends in the state of charge before going "dry". The fridge uses minimal power when running on propane. How old is your battery? Under normal conditions I would replace the battery after 4-5 years of use. If you do a lot of "dry" camping maybe sooner.

I just bought this new to me camper. I have no idea how old the battery is but if origional, it would be 6 yrs old.
Thanks for your answer.
