Onan Generator Problem
Our 7.5k diesel Generator blew up with only 600 hours
It was serviced regularly
On tear down it was found the Air filter housing had developed stress cracks around the attachment screw points, which allowed dust to bypass the air filter and ruined the engine
Cummins/Onan in Salt Lake City tells us we are out of Onan Warranty which is 2 years and the repair will be as much as a new Generator and they want $9,000 for a new one.
But this is an obvious manufacturing problem that must have occurred during assembly in the Onan plant.
What recourse do we have to convince Onan to replace or repair our Generator?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
