EastCoast RV Specialists in Roaring Spring, PA advertises "Only One in the Country" 2011 Super Nova 6400. Description includes air ride, airbrakes, and DT466 engine. Could GS be testing the waters?

Very interesting, I would certainly like to know the MSRP and asking price on that coach as compared to the ones on a 4200 chassis.

Me too. When I purchased my 2011 from them they could not tell me anything as to when GS would offer the units as they advertise on the GS RV website. They did say GS's biggest concern was that the chassis cost from International would likely place the asking price outside of the niche they currently have in the market....below 200K...

I spoke with a nice gentleman at East Coast today inquiring about the 2011 model on the 4300 chassis. It is identical to the 2009 model I have on the 4200 chassis...literally, right down to the colors. On a retail basis, mine listed for $211,000 back in '09 and the 2011 retails for $269,000. That should give you a good price comparison of differences between the two models.

My understanding as well....no new features on the coach part just the chassis....

The new chassis and motor would be enough change to make the coach exemplary over the 4200 platform. However, I am not sure that it is worth $59,000 to make the change. There are other options out there in that price range.

As much as I would like to have the DT466 engine, I am quite sure I would not pay that premium for it.

I was at my local International dealer today. The Service manager said at least $15,000 of the price increase is driven by 2010 Emission Standards. Still leaves a huge premium for the upgraded engine, air, etc...

I paid my deposit and the ACE air suspension system is on its' way! I will be their second installation. Based on your previous reports I can't wait!

TC I agree....at that price there are many options and unless you are absolutely infatuated with a GS Super Nova, those other options are likely to include numerous advantages. You'd think that if GS was to do this they'd also change/improve the features and options of the basic SN. As I suggested, I believe GS is testing the market....

CraigH, Good luck with the ACE install. Let us know how it goes.

I'd bet more like $89k is real.. and they'd be lucky to get it.
Same as used given the economy.
I'm in SoCAL and there are NO dealers, service , nor support for these units.*

Given the poor tack record of these units.
The poor resale value.
The lack of units sold.
nearly no service available - and no expertise as to the systems as built.

I'm even betting this is not actually a 2011, mine was a 2007 that they billed as 2008.

As standard equipment or the dealer upgraded already:
no external shower,
no pull through storage bays,
no 3kw inverter,
no satellite,
no solar ,
the substandard furniture and fittings....that break and bend under normal use

*J&L in Fonanta gets people coming in from as far away as Oregon and farther - they have to call Steve Tobias at GS over everything. There appears to be no one in California, Oregon, Nevada, and Arizona that is officially factory certified and can simply repair/ replace/ factory trained / and can repair all the substandard systems on these units. Also J&L is not factory authorized for International and Onan so they can not warranty reapir your drive train or genny so it's house systems only...

I got the word form a very reliable source that Gulf Steam is planning on showing the 4400 chassis SuperNova at the Louisville RVIA show in Kentucky on November 30- December 3. Therefore, they are still planning to introduce this coach to the market with the air suspension, Maxxforce DT466 engine and air brakes. Now, I still want to see what they are going to sell for on the market!
