I just noticed that my outside right rear tires is wearing different that I have ever witnessed. It is a Goodyear G670 275/70/22.5. The outside 2-3 Inches of tread is worn very choppy or wavy. The rest of the tire is worn normal. They have 10,000 miles on them.

When I went to the storage yard yesterday to get it, that tire was totally flat. Roadside service found a nail in the center and broke the tire down and patched it from the inside. One theory that I had was that it might have been losing air before I stored it and ran it a short ways being low.

Also I've read a lot about "tire rivering", but have not seen an actual picture of what that looks like.

Any ideas?

I read somewhere Goodyear had a problem with what was called RIVERING. I could never find out any more than that but would sure like to know if this is your problem. Can anyone explain what it means?

I have also read of Goodyear tires rivering, but on front tires, not on the rear as you discribe yours. That is weird that only one of the dual rear tires would be doing that. The only thing besides being a tire defect is that maybe you had been running the tire low for quite awhile.
I will do some research and see what I can come up with, and if I find out anything I will sure post it here. http://www.kaltire.com/uploads/images/k ... tionsB.gif (http://www.kaltire.com/uploads/images/kalTire/commercial/Tire-Wear-ConditionsB.gif)

This link will show you what rivering on a tire is and what might be the problems. Hope that helps!
