Thanks to all for prior help. Endura 2005 with GMC diesel. Just bought used and no knowledge of diesel engines. Taken first trip of 650 miles. How do diesels behave, what is good for it and not good? I found I could drive 60 mph, towing a Wrangler, at 2,000 rpm. I could drive 55 and about 1750 rpm. Some times rpm would jump to around 2300 rpm when I was having to start up a hill from standstill or when speed had fallen to 40 mph or so on a hill.

Is that okay for the diesel? Or should I try to keep the rpm from jumping up above some number, or let it do so only seldom?

Thanks. Just have no idea how to treat the engine.

P.S. Seems a very good RV though I have no prior experience to compare. Think I need to get brakes on the toad Wrangler though, so that is the next project. Coach also seems to lean to left a bit when on level ground.
