Travelling from LA to Seattle via Hwy 1 (coast highway)

Does anyone know of roads I need to stay away from due to the size of my RV and toad?

I was up near Muir Woods recently and I don't think I would have wanted to take my RV on them.

Traveled this route in 2003 in a 36 foot motorhome pulling Dodge Caravan. When we arrived in San Francisco someone told me to stay off HWY 1 north of San Fran. We went north on 101 until HWY 116 and then went west to get back on HWY 1. When we got to Rockport, CA we got back on 101 and followed it all the way to Tillamook, OR. Had no problems at all. Were traveling with 2 other couples who were also in 36 foot motor homes.

I have traveled on highway 1 by car, but not recommended by coach. I have traveled many times on 101 all the way to Washington and it is a nice road most of the way. You have to slow down some going through the Redwoods, but other then that I highly recommend it.
