[SOLVED] Generator has no AC???

Hello, I have a (new to me) 1989 27' Regatta GS. It has a Onan 4kW genset Emerald I. When I am connected to shore power, all my AC appliances work fine. When I have the generator running (no shore power) I have NO AC appliances.


-Generator runs fine
-Tried the 30AMP breaker on the gen in both directions
-All fuses i can see are good
-Checked all the breakers in the AC Power Distribution Panel
I was thinking that their was a switch from shore power to generator... but i have been unable to find it. I have looked EVERYWHERE!!

Does anyone have an idea for me?

Is there a 30 amp socket inside your cord storage compartment. That is where the cord has to be plugged into to get gen power to the A/C systems. :shock:

OMG!!! Yes their is a socket inside the shore power box!! Wondered what that was for ...LOL!! Well i will have to wait all day till i get home from work to try it out :(
