Well I have to beg forgivness. On June 9th 2011 I stated our Honda 2000i would run the air on our 23RBK.

Update!! It is almost 100 degrees out today (06-30-11) so I fired up the Honda 2000i generator to the 23RBK and it would run the air conditioner for less than a minute and then the generator would kick out, nothing else in the camper was on. I am wondering if I could have just had the fan going before and being it was cool out I got cold air. This is a real disappointment as there is no way I want to purchase a Honda companion. Guess I will have to go without air if there is no electricty available.

Your problem could be how many amps you need to run the A/C versus how many amps the generator can supply. Chances are it's around 15 amps and the A/C would need more like 20-25, also when the compressor kicks in you'll have a higher demand for a short period and that can trigger the breaker on the Honda. A short example to explain my theory: say you want to run a circular saw that's rated at 800 watts, when you start the saw you'll get a short burst at 1200 watts while the motor of the saw get up to speed and then stabilize to 800 watts. What I'm getting at is you might need a slightly bigger generator, more like a 3000 watts.

I can run my ac with my honda 2000i generator, but the eco switch has to be turned off so that the generator runs at full throttle. hope this helps.

Thanks. I will try it tomorrow with the eco switch off and see what happens.

Thanks rbuilder! I sure didn't want to purchase a different generator. Went out this afternoon and connected camper to the Honda 2000i with the eco throttle off and it ran the air with no problem, after awhile I switched the eco throttle to on and it continued to run the air. When the compressor would kick in the air would groan so not sure that is good for it. When I want to use the air in the camper I will just switch the eco throttle off and will be just fine.
