Wife called me the other morning and told me the bedroom A/C made some kind of noise in the middle of the night. Said the compressor kept trying to start. It would run for a second or two and then stop...Any ideas what might be wrong this time???

Sound like the start capacitor fried.

I agree with Don. I had the same problem last fall on a trip out west. I found a mobile tech in Dodge City who replaced it and told me that the model air conditioning I have is notorious for this failure and the manufacturer had redesigned the capacitors. He replaced it and it has worked very well since.

hi
All three a/c units had burnt out, starters with circuit boards removed and just replace the capacitor with Motor Run capacitor 40 MFD 370,440,vac no more problems and running great the part is $7.00 each

Hi...What caps did you use and what model A/C's do you have? Just asking for I have a 08 T40-B and I can hear the rear A/C having a harder time starting.
Here is an image of my caps...
Thanks

I bought a Dometic Hard start kit made for the Penguin air conditioner that I think most Tour Masters have. They are low profile. I bought it from PPL. It services about 25 models of the Penguin.

As shown above, I have 3 caps. As such I have kind of confused in regards to which one to replace.
