View Full Version : Amperage draw for fluorescent house lights

I noticed that my meter is showing 10A draw when 3 of the standard interior RV fluorescent lights are on.
The percentage drain on the house batteries is pretty significant
Since I have 5 total in the main area and 2 in the bedroom - it seems like I cannot use these for a significant amount of time even with a 2 panel solar setup on the roof putting out 6-7 amps...

Any thoughts - ideas ?

Thanks

Not a dry camper but maybe you could switch to LED lighting. They are supposed to be very low current.

I'd definitely go for LED lighting. They are expensive but the price is coming down.
You can get tube or bulb replacements for most models.
Be careful to buy the "warm white" as opposed to the brilliant white ones. The quality of the light is more friendly.
