Toilet seal

I have a Traveler Lite foot operated toilet and the seal that holds the water in the bowl seems to be leaking. This causes odors to come in as the water goes out.

Before I start tearing things apart... do I have to remove the entire toilet to get to this seal?...Can I remove/replace the seal from above?...Do I need to call Mike Rowe for this Dirty Job? :wink:

You should be able to clean the seal. A small tool came in the owners manual for mine. I had an old galaxie starlight toilet in a trailer I had a long time ago, I used a wire coat hanger to clean the slot along the seal and that took care of it. Try using a small stiff bristle brush first and just scrub around the seal area, this should take care of it.
