I just had my motorhome in to install a direct TV dish and route a HD cable and install a blue ray DVD player. When they removed the wall covers inside the storage bins over the passenger seat and then the old annalog TV to replace it with a flat screen TV they found and took photos of damage a mouse had done. Not sure how long the wires were sitting stripped bare and one was a 120 volt main wire but seen no signs of arching or blackness so all is good. They cut out all the damage and put in a juction box rather then trying to splice the wires or replace the entire run of wires. Dealer said it was common to find mouse damage in RVs especially when they sit in storage for a long time. The previous owner in Michigan had it sitting for almost 2 years up for sale before they brought it down to Ohio as a trade in for a Diseal pusher. The dealer said they could not tell if it was recent but they could not find any muse droppings and there was no breaks in the wall covering before they removed it. They said we were lucky if it was worse it could have caused a fire inside the wall. Just have no idea how a mouse would get that high up inside a motorhome wall and then get out. I will need to start looking for openings underneath to seal up with foam spray sealer.

WOW! You are lucky because a short could cause a fire. Good idea to spray with foam any hole you see underneath. Most likely the hole is probably around the engine compartment. I have seen before on gasoline coaches holes left on the firewall where they have run through wires etc etc.
