I thought I would mention to other Gulf Stream owners that have Caterpiller engines pryor to 2005 that lately they have been having problems with the fan bearing going bad because of the lack of lubrication. I have the 3126-E Caterpillar engine and it does have a zerk fitting right behind the pulley. It is hard to get to it, but it can be done. I have the rear radiator which makes it extra hard because you have to lift the bed up to expose the engine. Then what I done because the engine was pretty dusty. I sprayed it with Simple Green and got an electric power washer and washed the engine and the CaC since it was all there for the cleaning. After it dryed up I placed some old rags on top of the engine and I crawled into the engine comartment and stood on the drivers side sill. Then I worked my way through the side of the engine to where I could connect the grease gun hose to the zerk fitting. I gave it three good shots of grease and that will take care of it for another forty thousand miles. You do not want to over grease it because it could get in the fan belts and really cause big problems. But neglecting to grease this fitting could cause you fan to wobble and strike the CAC for big money to repair. Hope this helps somebody in the Gulf Stream forum.
