I have to replace the two converter house batteries in my 07 Tourmaster tomorrow. Looking for recommendations as to what I should replace them with.

I have had real good luck with Interstate batteries chassis and house. The house batteries are the Interstate U-2200 six volt.

That's what I use.

Thanks guys. I had a set of Interstate 12V deep cycles that only lasted slightly over 2 1/2 years that I was replacing. They were installed by the RV dealer when I bought my coach new to replace factory batteries that were bulging. May have been a maintenance issue on my part because of access to check water, etc. My golfing buddy is a Club Car dealer and he suggested that I go with Trojan T-1275 12V deep cycle and that is what he installed. My price was very good also!

Another good battery for sure. And if you got them at the right price...even better. ;)

I've been looking at the Qwik-Fill Dual 12V Battery Watering System for the batteries that are not easily accessible on my coach. The converter batteries can't be easily checked because of the space above them. Anyone using a system such as this? I don't like the cost, but it beats replacing the batteries frequently. My inverter bank is very easy since they are immediately in front of my generator.

I have been told by other RVers that 12 volt batteries for the house don't last as long as the deep cycle six volt. The Trojan T106 six volt deep cycle batteries are real good house batteries.

I have used nothing but Interstate U=2200 on the house and
for cranking the Caterpillar engine I have the Interstate workaholic 31 MHD, and those are sealed batteries, so no water is needed. But those are twelve volt and the set that come with the coach in 2003 when I bought it new only lasted like three years. Now the set that replaced the original now have six years on the coach, so I don't know how long these last. But CW told me that in the hot deserts were I spend a lot of time, like Las Vegas, Barstow that the batteries usually will not last as long.

Last set of house batteries lasted close to six years, then a couple showed bad on the hydrometer, so I replaced them all.

Ray-
I had also been told previously that the 6V deep cycle was better. However, my friend deals with all types of batteries in Club Car golf carts and battery work carts and the 12V deep cycle that he installed is the largest such battery made for golf cart use.He told me these batteries will outlast anything else he could install. I guess time will tell.

On my 2006 Tour Master T40 A the house batteries are 12V deep cell group 27 batteries. It is the inverter batteries that are 6V and there are 4 of them. There is no way you are going to get four 6V batteries in the compartment where the house batteries are. By the way, anyone know where the converter is on a T40 A?

nemo45-
The converter in my 2007 Tourmaster 40A is located under the bed, along with the transfer switch and whole lot of other stuff.

The converter on our 2008 TM 40A is also under the bed.
