Anyone had a problem with their parking brake? Mine is stuck in released mode, and it seems to be rusted from not being used. When I try to press parking brake pedal, it is hard and does not move at all. Looking down, I don't see any cable, it is a some sort of narrow assembly next to the wall, not something simple like your typical car or truck.

Assuming I'll need a new cable, where do I go about getting or ordering one? Are they interchangeable with say 95 Chevy 3500, or it is likely a unique part?

Thanks

It would help if you told us which coach you have. There are so many coaches and they are all different. Year, model, gas or diesel would sure help you get some information back.

Rear brakes sometimes stick to tehe drum. Release brake put in reverse and try to move it should brak loose.

It is a Sun Sport on Chevy frame with 7.4 gas engine. Made in 95, the old engine version.

I was able to roll around underneath and see that cables are good, and rear cables going to each side move as expected. The thing that is stuck is cable section going from the pedal down near the front wheel. Somehow it is frozen solid, and I am trying to figure out how to get it out.

There is very little space from the inside at driver's position, though I have managed to disconnect it from the pedal, and there is not much I can do there.

Hopefully I will find where it comes out on the engine compartment front, and pull it out, then measure it and get a replacement at a local store.

I am learning, after calling GS, that they don't even know themselves much about my unit, because they just use whatever is at hand at the moment when they build them. So, one day it may be one chassis, then they switch to another, and at that point they only direct you to the OEM, who's going to care very little about such old item. Good thing they are very common items.

Thanks for the input, and I appreciate it.
