Just wondering if its better to switch off the chassis batteries if you are staying for a long time at a place, say a month or longer, or if its better to leave them on. I just replaced the chassis batteries and want them to last as long as possible.

I leave mine on all the time. But, I also keep mine plugged in all the time. I can see if you were to park it unplugged for a long period you may want to disconnect to prevent drain.

Ok, we are full timers so we are plugged in to shore at all times. I was told though that the chassis batteries do not get charged by the converter when plugged into shorepower.

You are correct they don't charge when plugged in. However, that can be corrected--go to post on page 3 of 25 in this section dated Sept 17, 2011 for Trick-L-Start purchase and installation instructions. I did it and it works like a charm!!
