Hello,

Has anyone begun to use LED bulbs as replacements on their gulfstream? We have an Ultra '98 and it's begun to run through some of the lamps. Right now, I'm thinking about replacing with LEDs when a bulb dies -- eventually transition the unit over.

Does anyone know if the LED bulbs adversely affect features like the hazard blinker or turn signal blinker? I have a tail light (brake/parking 3157) currently in need of replacement.

I've found a few sources:

http://www.lightlens.com/ledbulbs.htm
http://www.goldduo.com/3157r32.html - this was the best price for the bulb I want that I saw...

but most are pricey -- 2x what I expected and likely 3x or 4x the traditional markup. And finding 'tower' bulb configurations seem best for this tail lamp lens. Any experience pro or con here?

and for normal bulbs:

I've also read where bulb wavelength matters -- that it might be wiser to use bulbs the same output frequency (color) as the lens. I'm not an optics expert, but wonder how true this is.

It also dawns on me that LED bulbs would be better inside for heat and battery life (many of our plastic lamp covers are lightly browned by the normal bulbs). Does the LED 'color' or white light frequency bug your eyes over time?
