Welcome Campd!

I don't know much about the specific model you're investigating, but if it's your first rig, there is plenty to consider in general, regardless of model.

o Take it for a ride and see how it handles. Does it ride well? Does it handle well? Does it accelerate and brake well?
o Listen to how it sounds. Rattles, squeaks, thumps, etc.
o Crawl under it and look for rust and stains. A rig of that year is bound to have some rust, as long as it isn't coming apart at the seams.
o Check out all the interior equipment...Shower, sinks, toilet, TV(s), stereo, oven, range, microwave, fresh water pump, furnace, A/C.
o Check the shore line connections for water, electric and sewage.
o If so equipped, run the generator and make sure all systems will work when it is running.
o Lay on the bed, sit on the sofa and chairs. If you're going to spend time in it, you need to be comfortable.

So...If you're happy with it, or think you can fix it, or you can live with it, then go for it !

Let us know what you decide.

Welcome to the forum. I never heard of a Sun Clipper. Is it a Gulf Stream coach? At 32' with a 5.9 Cummins engine that thing should move pretty good. Like Heritagerider explained to check everything on it. Naturally you will find some things that have worn out after twenty two years. Hope you got a good coach and have lots of fun with it. Check the tires to see if they are not over five years stamped on the sidewalls. If they are most RVers change every five years on the average. Test drive to see how it handles. What kind of chassis does it have? It probably is a Spartan I do not think Freightliner was into the motorhome business then, but I could be wrong.

Well, it's not a one-of-a-kind but, when searched, only three diesel versions come up for sale (2 in the U.S. and 1 in Canada). Either they are very rare or, they are so good that the owners are holding on to them. Let's hope for the latter :)
