Bought a 2005 Scenic Cruiser with an isl 400 any idea how to get the air filter assembly out? No access from inside looks like the exhaust must be removed. Anyone done this?

Thanks, John

Not sure how the air filter is on the ISL Cummins engine, but on my Scenic Cruiser with the Cat engine the filter is parallel to the muffler with only about six inches separating them. It is a job and a half changing the filter. But I do change it from the bottom on the drivers side.

Would like to see some pictures of your 2005 Scenic Cruiser.

Thanks for the response Ray I will have to remove the exhaust crossover pipe and remove the front muffler hanger bracket then the filter should come out to the front.

PS how do I post a picture?

Also anyone else have a problem with front mounted generator stalling out when it rains? Think the circut board is getting wet.

Toyboy, Go to page three and about eight from the top there is a thread titled: Scenic Cruiser model 8406

Some of us have posted pictures of our coaches there and Heritagerider also explains there how to download pictures.

As to your generator having problems starting when it gets wet? I never have had that problem yet. Where is the water coming from. Mine is completely enclosed.

Nice looking coach. Now go out and enjoy it.

On the generator side it sounds like you might have some wires shorting out when wet. I just can not figure out how the water is getting in. I have the generator mounted on rails where it rolls in and out with an electric motor. I have the Onan 7500 quiet diesel. Never have had problem with rain, but then again I have only driven on rain a few times with the generator not running.
Might check your wire harness for any exposed wire connections.

Thanks Ray, Saw a post on a different site but can't find it again about the same 7500 gen rain issue. That person said the rain and if they had the dash air on inside the coach the water dripped out of the evaporator unit thats right above the gen it woul also stall the gen. They brought to onan for repair and theres a control board mounted inside the gen somewhere and when it got wet the gen stalls. I sealed the top plate with clear silicone so next time it rain I will see.

John again thanks for the help!
