2008 Tour Master by Gulf Stream on a 2007 chassis with a Mercedes MBE926 engine.
The EGR cooler failed last year on our way to Florida and we had it replaced at a Freightliner dealer in Pennsylvania. They also changed the coolant and the oil with new filters.
I am having an overheating problem when going up an uphill grade.
I had it looked at in Florida and the mechanic found that the coolant is not flowing through the radiator the way is should and he showed me that the left side of the radiator and other areas are staying cold. He did this with a no contact temp sensor. I was told that the radiator got clogged when the EGR cooler failed as it dumped debris in the coolant. I was told that I need a new radiator or to have the existing radiator removed to have it cored, cleaned and rebuilt.
Should Freightliner have known about this problem and advised me that the system needed to cleaned

Any one have a similar problem.

Thank you in advance,

Yes I did find the problem, or should I say that Freightliner dealer in Conn. found the problem.
They checked it out and found that the clutch fan was not working properly.
There were 2 problems, there was an electrical wire broken in the harness going to the fan and the fan was not engaging properly.
They replaced the mechanism in the fan and repaired the disconnected wire
I felt all along that the problem was with the clutch fan but I could not figure out how to check it.
The mechanic in Florida was obvious wrong.
I had this work done over a year ago and have had no problems with overheating.
Hope this helps
