WE REACHED OUR GOAL!

At 8:02 PM mountain time today, 11/27/2006 we officially hit our 200th signature on the petition to motivate Gulf Stream RV to release technical documentation such as wiring schematic to owners.

Now, just because we reached our goal does not mean we should stop there, I welcome all newcomers to sign the petition and show their support...there is nothing wrong with exceeding a goal!

As far as the next steps...I will print out the signed petition and send it to the powers that be at Gulf Stream RV as well as send them emails. If any of you out there have suggestions as to who I should send it to, please send me a PM (private message).

After I do that, the rest lies in Gulf Stream's hands, let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say that through our collective force they will choose to do the right thing.

Go GSOWNERS.COM![/b]

Is anyone still pushing Gulf Stream on this?

There has been success on the technical documentation availability issue. How much was due to the petition is unknown, but it did not hurt.

In addition to the petition, many owners have been in personal contact with important persons at GS, & expressed concern, outrage, & all emotions in between.

For example, I had a long phone conversation with the (now retired) head electrical engineer. He agreed with our position that we needed electrical schematics, & was actively attempting to correct the sad situation.

At another time during a factory visit, I was fortunate to access the ear of the 2nd most influential member of the company. This vice president whole-heartedly agreed with us also, & was actively working to change the corporate position. He said that PDFs would be available,,, and they were.

I was not the only owner who was able to capture his attention.

As a result of all the persistance (his & ours), the creation of PDF schematic files was approved & are now supplied, on request. It is my understanding that DVD/CDs are supplied with new MH units - this may be sporadic though.

The absence of GS-generated documentation has improved. The company seems to be making great strides to improve thier image, though obviously from the reports, there is a long way to go. It seems as though, IF you can get in touch with someone at the factory, you stand a good chance of obtaining requested documentation.

Oh, I forgot, I believe there are additional documents available on the evolving, improved www.Gulfstreamcoach.com (http://www.Gulfstreamcoach.com) website. I haven't checked.

I asked GS for wiring diagrams and fuse box label diagrams and got a fuse box label diagram and the following:

Attached you will find the fuse box label. I cannot give you schematics to your coach as these are proprietary, and cannot be released to customers. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,

FBL: You just weren't fast enough. (A poor joke, I know)

I guess Jami was able to re-rechange company policy. Before you go to the big guns, Scott Pullin (VP of operations), perhaps you should call Jami back & request the name & number of her boss. The reason is because you understand that PDFs are available to customers who ask. And, you are asking.

Just when you start to think there is hope.............

Well I gave Jami Carr several weeks to acknowledge my request for a POC for Mr. Scott Pullin and subsequently gave up. After finding his Email address via a google search I contacted him with some results. the following are Mr. Pullin's words:

"Good afternoon Dave, While Jami's comments are correct, we will attempt to provide requested information specifically to a customer's request. The 2002 Friendship electrical schematics are however somewhat limited. I've attached a trouble shooting manual which should provide you with a good resource to cover most electrical questions. Not all drawings and pictures are relevant to your specific model year, but should provide you with a helpful resource and overview. Please let us know if you have a specific question which we can address if not included with the attachment."

The subject attachment will be helpful, but it seems strange that the actual diagrams are "somewhat limited"
