Hi!

We have a 2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty Quad Cab with the 8' bed. It has a 6.8 litre V-10 gas engine with a 4.10 gear ratio. Will this truck pull a 2006 or 2007 Gulf Stream Prairie Schooner (or Yellowstone) 34 FLR model? The truck weighs 8,000# with 38 gallons of gas.

Thanks for any guidance.

A few things you need to know are:

What is the GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating) of your truck?

What is the tow rating of your truck?

What is the GVW of your truck?

What is the actual weight of your truck?

What is the weight of the 5th wheel model of the 5er you are plan on towing?

What is the hitch weight of the 5th wheel model?

All these are needed figures to determine the actual towing capacity of your truck.

I Pull an '05 Canyon Trail 31 FRBH with a V-10 and 4.3 rear end. I would not want to much heavier in pin or total 5'er but I have been pleased with my perofrmance.

Well I just went through this with my truck and its confusing, How ever I think yours will be less confusing. Here is what I found:

2005 F250 Crewcab V10 6.8L 4:30 Rear MAX Towing = 15,400 lbs.
2007 Gulstream Prarie Schooner 34FLR weight = 11,520 GVWR 14,270

The MAX towing capacity is higer the the GVWR of the trailer, you will probably be ok. You have to concicer the pin weight (2,270lbs) and your GCWR (on the door label of the truck) and make sure the combined weight of the truck + stuff + Trailer is not over the Combined vehichle weight (GCWR).
