We purchased a brand new 2014 Gulfstream Innsbruck last April. The dealer is over 2 hours from our home. When we arrived to pick up, it turned out that the trailer had several issues that we were not aware of prior to that day. We had broken doors, missing trim, things put on upside down/backwards, etc. etc. The more we looked around, the more stuff we found that was wrong.

One of the Gulfstream Maintenance men just happened to be at the dealer the day we picked up as he was working on a lot of warranty work for the company. They called him out and he was shocked at the number of things wrong with the camper. He was actually shocked that it left the factory the way it was. Pictures were taken, notes were made, and they prepared to order parts.

Fast forward 2 months and we delivered the camper to them for a whole week so that they could do the work that was scheduled. Unfortunately, several items that had been ordered, never arrived, several other things never got ordered. Some things were fixed and other things were broken. We actually left with more damage than we arrived with. There was actually a 4 page, 21 point list of things that needed to be dealt with. UNREAL for a brand NEW camper.

More parts were ordered/re-ordered and months went by. We called the dealer several times (who always had an excuse), spoke with Corporate several times, etc. Nothing really happened.

Finally made arrangements to pick up the parts that camp in and of the 6 or 7 things we were supposed to get, only 2 items were there. We drove 2+ hours and still didn't have all the parts more than 6 months later! When we got home and opened the box with the kitchen counter top, it WAS THE WRONG COUNTER!!! It was the counter top for the outside kitchen (which was fine at the time). They took photos, drew a diagram, took measurements and still ordered the wrong counter. ???

We called corporate again to see if we could go somewhere else for warranty work and they made a lame attempt to send us somewhere else but said it was up to the local dealer if they would take us. And they were on a wait list for 4 months and wouldn't schedule for the next available month. So we couldn't go there. But we could always go back to where we bought it. Which we would NEVER do. Incompetent is an understatement.

At this point, we have a new camper that still needs the kitchen counter replaced, the awning still won't close flush so we have to put rubber pieces in it when rolling it up so we can move it without it getting caught on the wind and blowing away, the outside kitchen counter recently started to blow up like a balloon but we can't see where water is getting in. (thankfully we "accidentally" got an outside kitchen counter) Small parts for broken things (that were broken when we got it) are STILL broken with no replacement parts in sight. After the dealer had the camper last time, they broke the mount for the CD/DVD sound system (no idea why cause there were no repairs necessary there) and the system won't work properly. We haven't been able to play a movie in the DVD since 2 months after we purchased.

We are at a loss. How can you spend over $20,000 on a camper and have it have so many issues from the beginning and no one able to help. We've invested HOURS into trying to get help, talking to whoever will make an attempt only to find out that they are just blowing smoke. There is always an excuse. We are so sick over the whole thing. And quite frankly, we would LOVE to be rid of this awful money pit. And to add insult to injury, a tire completely blew on us last weekend on our way home and totally ripped up the inside of the wheel well.

We are 100% disgusted with Driftwood RV and with Gulfstream as a whole. Miserable Mess. Interestingly, when calling a local dealer, they said "well there's your problem. You bought a Gulfstream. They certainly don't have a reputation for quality." At this point, we just shake our heads. What else is there to do?

Draft a registered letter to the dealer and to corporate. Explain to them that this is unacceptable and you will be returning the trailer for a full refund if everything is not addressed in 30 days. If at that time, there are still outstanding ongoing issues, pursue legal action. Maybe this is a good place to start but I don't know. http://ohiolemonlaw.com/lemon-laws/vehicle-type/rv/find-yo/ but I believe it will have to be a chassis problem for lemon law to apply.

A consult with an attorney to find out your options would be worth it to me.

You do realize you are talking to a 3 year old posting?

Man I hate it when people don't update topics with any follow on results.
