Can anyone recommend a good toad to pull behind a BT Cruiser? We are looking at Saturns, Scions, and PT Cruisers. We welcome any suggestions or comments. Thanks.

Hi Tom & Penny
Your question, What is a good toad.
We have has a Satrun for about 3 years and are very happy with it.
All we have to do is pull out a couple of fuses.
I really don"t know anything about the other units you mentioned.

We tow a 99 Jeep Wrangler. Tow mine all 4 down with a blue ox tow bar no problems. Keep it simple (KSS) the key. I built our jeep for off roading and have used that way also drive it to church.
$20. run through tail lights that mount with magnets and plug directly in to the RV. easier than tying in to the ele. system.
TOWING "MY' jeep I position the ignition key foot off brake till I can move the auto trans freely to neutral. Does 2 things drive train neutraled and the steering wheel is unlocked and tracks with rv.
BRAKING I use a brake-buddy initially pulled with a E-450 class c thus near maxing the breaks this eliminates that worry.
Previously installed locking hubs on all 4 hubs. When free I have a 4 wheel trailer nice to have when you break an axel. Beats walking.
These things are special application for "My Jeep" build your own or leave it alone youe choice .
The Jeep manual tells you exactly what you need to do to tow it's simple trust only this and question the rest of us. Jeep is my choice..

I have towed both an '06 and now an '07 Jeep Wrangler. Great vehicles to tow because they are light and you can tow either a manual or automatic transmission. The drawback to the '07 is you have to pull a fuse or disconnect the battery to tow. It seems the Chrysler engineers forgot to put an off position on the switch on the new Jeeps so you have to tow in the ignition position that has all you dash lights radio, etc. on. A simple pull of a fuse makes all ok except you have to re set the digital clock when you put the fuse back in. Luckily, it does not erase anything else including your preset radio stations. The '06 has an off position so no fuse pulling required.

I pre wire a separate light that runs off the coach for the running and brake lights. There is plenty of extra room in most jeep tail light housings to add another light bulb.

I also use a Blue Ox tow bar and base plate. Used this setup on both Jeeps and they work well.

Hi:
I tow a Rubicon, with absolutely no trouble. I'm sad to hear the 07's have to have a fuse pulled.
I saw a Lady towing a Honda, she said all she had to do was follow a start, move shifter from P to D to N in a certain manner, and bingo, all set to tow.
So, try this link, http://4wheeldrive.about.com/cs/towing4 ... 601a_2.htm (http://4wheeldrive.about.com/cs/towing4wheelsdown/a/aa070601a_2.htm)

Or try Motor Home Magazine,

Last, whatever you tow, please get and use an auxiliary brake for the toad. All states require one, at some level, and Canada requires one for any towed vehicle. It just makes things safer.
Safe travels

We tow a Hyundai Tucson manual transmission. Four wheels down, no fuse removal, unified tow brake and Blue Ox tow bar. All has been fine. Charlie
