I was wondering how many or our members are planning on going to The Gulfstream rally this year. It would be great to meet some of the people we communicate with face-to-face. Bill and I are planning to go and our Chapter has been asked to run the games at Club Gulfstream on Thursday.e have been to 2 other Back Home rallies and have enjoyed them both. Hope to see some of you there.

Yes I think we did have about 13 rigs at the 2005 rally from our Florida Sungators chapter. We hope to have that many again this year. Do you know if they are going with assigned parking ahead of thime or park as you arrive?

Maggie
02-03-2007, 10:22 PM
Yes, we will have assigned parking. They will be assigned according
to the date you register. They did this last year at the 2006 rally.
There will be a few changes from 2006 but we think they will make things
go a little bit better. According to one of Bonnie Cooper' E-News there will
also be a box to check on the application for you to request parking with your chapter. But I don't see it on the application, so if you want to park with your chapter maybe you need to make a note on your application.

Maggie is correct.
We had some problems last year and our Vice. Presedent is working with Bonnie and others at Gulf Stream to correct them. Also the word is that the fairground may have installed 50 amp service in the south lot.
I will check with our Vice Presedent for an update on parking. This may take a few days as he is not home often.

Looking forward to see you and your group again this year.

This will be our first backhome rally. I will be arriving a couple of days early & have called the CG to reserve a spot for those days. I also told them that I would be there for the rally.
Will I be able to keep the same spot for the duration of the rally??

WE B RVN

Gulf Stream will include in your rally packet the site number. If arriving early for the rally, persons must make reservations directly with the fairgrounds just as you have done. When you arrive at the fairground tell them you are with the Gulf Stream group and give them the site number. Your best bet is to call them as soon as you get the rally packet. If you leave home before you received the packet, then you need to contact Gulf Stream by phone the week before to get the site number. If you do not get on your assigned site, you will be moved.
If anyone leaves home before receiving your rally packet and will NOT be arriving early, do nothing. We will have your site number.

The south lot will not have 50amp service installed for the 2007 season.

I was wondering how many of you are going to the Back Home rally
in June. I heard that about 200 have already registered. This will
be the 20th year for the "GulfStreamers". Les would like to see 300
attending. For those of you that have never attended I would like
to encourage you to do so. It is one of the best rallies you will find for the money. Take time to compare the FMCA and the "Rally "sponosered
by Good Sam and I think you will see what I mean. For the price of about
$400. you get 6 nights camping, 3 lunches, 5 continental breakfasts,
5 buffet dinners, 1 catered breakfact,5 nights of professional entertainment and thats just a start . There are many door prizes as well
as cash bingo and other games and a flea market. Of course you have to be a member of the "GulfStreamers" How about giving it a try.

Great to hear that you will be at the "Back Home" rally. The Mid Atlantic Streamers are a great group, like most of the chapters, I am sure you will enjoy being a member.

It will be great to see and meet you at the rally in Indiana. It is a the best and promises to be even better this year. Bonnie and the rest do a terrific job putting it on. Oh, Make sure you bring your appetite because the food is GOOD and usually lots of it.

See Ya there,
Ron

We attended the Back Home in Indiana rally and what a great time we had. That was some of the best money we have spend in a long time. With everything they give all week, we will not miss future rallies.
The only thing that I thought was odd was the deals on the motorhomes. I tried to deal on one and we could not come to terms, so when I got home and checked with the dealer we bought ours from, we could have gotten a better deal. Lost interest on a new one this year so dropped it. Some people liked the deals, they sold 14 units.

Our chapter drove the golf cart around and I met a lot of very nice people and even ran into some folks we have not seen in a long time.

What a great time and anyone I see in our travels that owns a Gulfstream product I will make sure they know about this great week in June that everyone can enjoy.

Yes, The "Back Home Rally" was another good one this year. This was our 4th and we have already planned to be there again next year.

Bonnie Cooper and her staff always put on good rallies, no matter which one. We have attanded some of the other rallies that the International has during the year and have never been disappointed at any of them.

The Gulfstreamers is one of the best manufacturers RV clubs.

I was disappointed that the Power Gear rep decided that what he had going was more important than coming to give his seminar to us Gulfstreamers at the rally since most of us have Power Gear leveling or slide-out systems in our coaches. I am sure that we could have used the knowledge that would have been gained from him being there with us.

Overall, it was another good rally.

Yes, that was the biggest back home rally so far. This was our 4th one and they keep getting better each time. Glad to see Les Potteiger is doing well after his hip replacement & heart bypass. We bought our latest 5th wheel at last years rally from Lee's Country RV and are very happy with it. Looking forward to next yrs back home.

I have never been to a Back Home Rally. what can you tell me about it? What is the cost. Do you have hook-ups, water, electric & sewer? Wife needs electric at night for a C-pac machine.
It appears that we will be in Ohio in June and thinking maybe this would be a good time to make that Rally. I guess the first thing I need to do is Join the GulfStreamers Club , is that correct?
Anything you can tell me would be appricated.

Darby,
If you will look back to my posting from April 2007 I think you will get a good ideal about the Back Home Rally. The agenda for 2008 isn't out
yet but I don't think there will be much changed. This will be our 10 year and they have all been pretty much the same. Most sites do have full hook ups. All will have electric and water. Yes, you do have to be a member of the "Gulfstreamers" club. The membership cost is $20.00 a year. You can contact Jennifer Shaw, membership coordinator at [email protected], she will be able to give you all the information. Tell her that you were refered by #4231. There are a lot of benifits to being a member such as discounts on streamwear, parts, rallies and a magazine 4 X a year. At the Back Home Rally you also get the opportunity too have some minor repairs done free. Hope you join us in June

Darby,

Your reference to the wife's CPAP was very interesting, as it was a concern to me as well. I don't enjoy a night's sleep without mine & originally felt it would limit my overnighting opportunities.

I read my owners manual for the CPAP and found it could be run off 12 volts as well as 115 AC. I bought the adaptor and could run off house batteries if necessary. The is an 12 volt outlet in the bedroom as well as standard AC outlets. The CPAP will draw about 3 amps at 12 volts DC. I've never had to use it that way so far, but it's nice to know that I could. I run the generator overnight in rest areas & have been fortunate enough to have electric at all campsites so far.
