When I bought my coach new as the 1st owner, it had 1,300 miles on the odometer. I was told it was from the delivery. (Elkhart to Jacksonville, FL)

Do these miles count against my 12,000 mile warranty?

I need to have warranty work done but will be over 12,000 if these miles are included as well as the reound trip to Elkhart I have had to make from Oklhaoma to have my air issues fixed by GS.

Thanks

Dave.......

Hi, Dave. Mine had 1385 miles on it and I'm under the assumption that the warranty starts from that point. However, I may be wrong. Charlie

The statement everyone fears - "Sorry, you're 2 miles over warranty"

Warranty begins at the mileage you purchase at, not at 0.0. You (should have) received an odometer statement at signing. Also, the reading should appear on your bill of sale. You are responsible to assure the written number matches what is on the coach at that moment.

Side note: I've had automobile dealers UNDERstate the mileage for NON-warranty repairs on their bill. Later, they argued "How many miles did you EXPECT to get out of those brakes?" - Always confirm the number written on the paperwork matches the odometer.

When you discover a factory defect on your coach, immediately report it to your dealer, along with odometer reading. That way the claim is established regardless of the distance or time you need to travel for the repair work.

Lastly, any dealings I've had with reputable companies, the mileage limit is an "approximate". A dealer may try to refuse coverage, but that's only because he can charge you way more than the factory reimburses him. If you run into that situation, lots of noise directly to the factory will get you your coverage under warranty.

Bob,

Thanks for the info. I feel comfortable about this now.
