After nearly three years we managed to get the Onan 7500 water pump belt replaced without dropping the generator out of our GS T 40-B.
It was done by Fleet Tec in Sarasota, Florida by Mark, the owner, for $80 an hour, not $120-150 per hour like most places.
It took him about an hour to pull enough bolts off of the generator in back and near the back to remove the rear panel over the
water pump and replace the ten dollar belt. He lined the belt up to the hash marks on the pulley, installing it and replaced the
cover and bolts in about an hour. I am posting this to make it known that $2200 doesn't have to be paid to Cummins as they request
to replace a ten dollar belt by dropping the generator first.
The belt is fairly easy to replace by just doing the above.
I wanted to save everyone money on this as it isn't nearly as complex as Cummins would like you to think.
