I just bought my 1st motor home a 1997 gulfstream suns port 31' it has 1 hydrolic. slide out. Could I get the steps need to move it out and in. Thanks.

To prepare to extend the slide you need to

1) level the coach
2) ensure the driver's seat is all the way forward to clear any movement
3) press the OUT switch on the slide out control panel

My coach is a different model and year from your new-to-you coach, but they all work similarly. You will need to have the chassis battery switch turned on of course and the batteries need to be fully charged, as the hydraulic pump draws quite a bit of current.

I am new owner of 03 GS Yellowstone CC DP and previous owner told me to "be sure engine is off when extending slides"? I have read several threads instructing full batteries, implying engine no running but was curious why engine has to be off, does it cause damage?

Slide out won't open or close with the engine running
