View Full Version : Dribbling out of city connection

We just bought a 2008 Tour Master T40c last week. One of the things I think is wrong is that the dealer put a blow-out cap on the city water connection inside the fill area to keep water from dribbling out of it. They glued the cap end shut and screwed it in tightly to stop the flow.

My previous RV didn't have this issue and I would not expect it in this one. Is there a backflow valve missing in the line inside somewhere?

Well I'm going to answer my own question. I didn't realize there was a check valve built into the hose connection as my older rv didn't have this type of attachment. I punched out the obviously leaking valve and added a new one on the back side of the inlet. The happy part was the connection was nice and open inside my bathroom sink cabinet making it easy to get to.

Now, as to why the dealer just cheaply capped the connection with a dummy plug vs replacing the check valve.... no idea. :-(

One more fun fix off my list.

Why? Because (someone) had an incompetent/ unqualified doing band aid repairs?
