Dehumidifiers? Recommendations?

What size and type of dehumidifiers are you all using or recommending?



I have a BT Cruiser that needs to be stored/parked outside for two months of rainy cold pacific northwest weather.


Do I want a tube type to drain the water away?
A catch basin type? (If so how many liters am I likely to need?)
Or are the pellets/granules enough for this soaking wet climate?


Or should I just heat it? Vents open? Partially open? Closed tight?



Honest - I looked and couldn't find such a discussion.

The Dri-z-Air types work well for small spaces like cupboards or closets but are not sufficient for any length of time in an area as big as a motorhome in the PNW

I would use one with a drain hose (or modify the tank style to accept a hose), and set it in the bathtub/shower for the winter. We used a tank-type dehumidifier in Wisconsin summers, and it seems like it was always overflowing because I'd forget to empty it, leading to putting all that moisture back in the air.

I bought this dehumidifier for my partially finished basement. The basement is about 150 square meters. The water heater in my basement broke a year ago and the sanitation company used their equipment to dehumidify and repair the damage. Since then the basement has been damp. I bought this dehumidifier for the size and price. I had it for about two weeks and I am happy so far. I am happy with this purchase and will buy this brand again if I need a different dehumidifier for a different room.

We had some issues with mold on the windows in our master bathroom. this small dehumidifier (https://www.rvhometown.com/best-rv-dehumidifiers/) did an excellent job! We leave it on for about 12 hours and switch it off for 12 hours. We've had it for a touch over a month and it's perfect for our needs! Fast shipping, sufficiently small to place out of the way, very quiet, and pulls an honest amount of moisture out of the space.
